Pittsburg State University Admission Ambassadors 

An opportunity I got to be a part of was being a student ambassador within the admissions office of PSU. A student ambassador would take people who were interested into coming to PSU on a campus tour or campus visit, and give some advice on how to handle college, and how to choose what college is best for you. I always thought this is one of the most important parts of a university as ambassadors are the face of the university, and a campus tour is what attracts students the most to come to college. I was an ambassador for all four years of my undergraduate career, and assisted with major events in my graduate program.

Pittsburg State University PEERS Program 

I had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the PSU PEERS Mentoring Program in the Fall/Winter of 2021. All incoming freshman were required to take an introductory course called Gorilla Gateway that would teach the tips and tricks of PSU and the city of Pittsburg itself. There would also be some additional course content that would teach material like credit cards & debit cards, goal setting, time management, etc. To be selected for this position you had to be nominated by a previous mentor or professor and file an application within the student success office in Axe Library. I had the pleasure to be a TA & Mentor for approximately 30 freshman students across different majors. One of the assignments that I was given by my supervisor was to take the class on an engagement activity of my choice, so they could develop social skills with other members of the class. Like a bonding activity. I took some members of my class, the ones who signed up to go, to a bowling alley that was locally in town, and to a foam and paint party event that was happening first week of campus. I also had the chance to teach a lesson of goal setting and time management to the class. This was a great opportunity to network with other students, and assist incoming freshman on the process of getting acclimated to college life. 

Swimming 

In my high school years I was a part of the Lansing Lions boys swim team. This kept me in shape and busy during the winter/spring months. Being on the swim team was very fun, but also intense and built great discipline in my character from the intense competitions and workouts. I competed as a sprinter and a backstroker events, and attend the state competitive meet my senior year as the boys swim team captain. 

Culinary Arts & Mixology 

One of my long lasting passion was to be a chef, and open & operate my own bar / restaurant. I was always a huge fan of watching Food Network shows, and enjoyed watching Gordon Ramsay. I love being in the kitchen, and cooking for myself and others. A recent addition to my interests is being a mixologist. I love the idea of mixing beverages, and creating beautiful drink masterpieces that can be shared with family and friends. This lead me to create my own personal TikTok account for mixology and cooking videos. 

Disney 

I am known as a huge a Disney fan, which leads to my ultimate dream to work for the Disney company in the PR, advertising, and marketing departments. My family used to go to Disney every year for vacation, and that's where my love for the story and company developed. My all time favorite Disney movie is Toy Story, but the films keep getting better. 

Boy Scouts of America 

In my youth I was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America to where I earned my Eagle Scout rank at 14 years old, and achieved Vigil status in an honor society, The Order of the Arrow. Being involved in this organization allowed me to learn life skills, make friends, and develop connections within multiple organizations.
